A rare example of wood sculpture by Donatello, one of the founding artists of the Renaissance. Made in the 1430s, the Spiritello originally formed part of an architectural ensemble decorating an interior space, possibly a sacristy in a church or a room in a palace. Named the number one art discovery of 2015 by Artnet News.
